Finally, in Spain again! I was so excited to use the little Spanish I still can speak and finally had the opportunity. Well, truthfully, I have forgotten A LOT, but I love being around the language and still understand quite a bit. Our few days in Madrid solidified my desire to refine my Spanish and take it to the next level. We had paella and churros and walked the city a lot! Madrid is a hillier city than I expected. One funny coincidence was that the Spanish team played the German team in the World Cup while I was in Spain! Our hostel projected the game in the courtyard on the big wall, and our room had a small balcony towards the courtyard, so I could watch from above without any worries about keeping my support for Germany a secret!

Endlich wieder in Spanien! Ich habe mich so darauf gefreut, mein bisschen Spanisch, das ich noch kann zu benutzen und hatten endlich wieder die Gelegenheit. Na ja, um ehrlich zu sein, ich habe schon SEHR VIEL vergessen, aber ich liebe es die Sprache zu hören und verstehe immer noch einiges. Unsere paar Tage in Madrid haben mein Vorhaben mein Spanisch zu verbessern und es auf die nächste Stufe zu schaffen verfestigt. Wir hatten Paella und Churros und sind viel in der Stadt herumgelaufen. Madrid ist hügeliger, als ich erwartet hatte. Ein lustiger Zufall war, dass Spanien gegen Deutschland in der Fußball-WM gespielt hat als ich in Spanien war! Unser Hostel übertrug das Spiel in Innenhof und projizierte es an eine große Hauswand. Unser Raum hatte einen kleinen Balkon zum Innenhof, so konnte ich das Spiel von oben verfolgen über allen anderen und ohne Sorge, meine Unterstützung für Deutschland geheim zu halten!

¡Por fin en España otra vez! Estaba tan emocionada de usar el poco español que todavía puedo hablar y finalmente tuve la oportunidad. Bueno, la verdad, he olvidado MUCHO, pero me encanta estar cerca del idioma y aún entiendo bastante. Nuestros pocos días en Madrid solidificaron mi deseo de perfeccionar mi español y llevarlo al siguiente nivel. ¡Comimos paella y churros y caminamos mucho por la ciudad! Madrid es una ciudad más montañosa de lo que esperaba. ¡Una coincidencia graciosa fue que el equipo español jugó contra el equipo alemán en la Copa del Mundo mientras yo estaba en España! Nuestro albergue proyectó el juego en el patio en la gran pared, y nuestra habitación tenía un pequeño balcón hacia el patio, ¡así que podía mirar desde arriba sin preocuparme por mantener en secreto mi apoyo a Alemania!

Thailand – Bangkok & Hua Hin

  English Where are we now? Well, at the beginning of January, we fled the cold and wet from Germany and made our way to hot and sunny Thailand! Our flight was good, and we entered the country with no issues. I don't know how much you are following the News, but there was confusion about whether or not Thailand required proof of vaccination against COVID. When we checked in at the airport in Munich, they wanted us to show our vaccination cards; when we entered the country through immigration, they did not ask for them. We flew into Bangkok and readily embraced the warmth! I had all sorts of ambitions for what I wanted to see and do since we had only two full days in the city. Thailand is six hours ahead of Germany; jetlag is usually not a problem for me and I adjust pretty quickly. However, this time, I have a hard time getting into the groove of things. English I just wanted to share on a separate note Wonderful News! No, I am NOT pregnant… We became godparents!! Our good friends Carmen & Adam have an adorable one-year-old daughter named Mia, and they gave us the honor to ask us if we would like to be Mia’s godparents. We were so thrilled!!! May I present to you our wonderful godchild, Mia: Deutsch Ich wollte nur noch wundervolle Neuigkeiten mit euch teilen! Nein, ich bin NICHT schwanger... Wir sind Pateneltern geworden!!
