Thailand – Bangkok & Hua Hin

Where are we now? Well, at the beginning of January, we fled the cold and wet from Germany and made our way to hot and sunny Thailand!

Our flight was good, and we entered the country with no issues. I don't know how much you are following the News, but there was confusion about whether or not Thailand required proof of vaccination against COVID. When we checked in at the airport in Munich, they wanted us to show our vaccination cards; when we entered the country through immigration, they did not ask for them.

We flew into Bangkok and readily embraced the warmth! I had all sorts of ambitions for what I wanted to see and do since we had only two full days in the city. Thailand is six hours ahead of Germany; jetlag is usually not a problem for me and I adjust pretty quickly. However, this time, I have a hard time getting into the groove of things. I will admit I am also not trying very hard.

In Bangkok, the nightlife is active, and our hotel was in a vibrant area. So, one could hear the music and people until 3 -4 am. We usually were up until 4/5 am and then finally fell asleep and slept in very late. We did not do much sightseeing, but we ventured into our neighborhood. We got a lot of good food, a foot massage, and got to see the city a bit. The food was the highlight for me!

After a few days, we moved on by bus to a beach town down the coast called Hua Hin. This is where we currently are. We rode in a tiny bus, and I was unsure if we would fit, but we did. The bus ride was 4 hours. Here we do not do much either but rest, write posts 😊, hang out at the beach, and eat a lot of good food. Hua Hin also has a great night market, to which we have been twice so far. You can get anything there, from food to sunglasses, games, and massage.

Tomorrow we are moving on to the island of Koh Samui. We will travel for 12 hours, but then we get to stay there for four whole days! After Koh Samui, we will go to Krabi and conclude our Thailand time on the island of Phuket. So, stay tuned for more as time goes on.

Wo sind wir jetzt gerade? Na ja, Anfang Januar sind wir aus dem kalten und nassen Deutschland geflohen und sind in das heiße und sonnige Thailand geflogen!

Unser Flug was gut und wir konnten ohne Probleme ins Land einreisen. Ich weiß nicht, wie viel ihr die Nachrichten verfolgt, aber kurzzeitig gab es etwas Verwirrung darüber, ob Thailand nun einen Beweis für COVID Impfungen sehen wollte oder nicht. Als wir am Münchner Flughafen eingecheckt haben, wollten sie unsere Impfausweise sehen, aber als wir eingereist sind, wollten sie nichts an der Grenzkontrolle sehen.

Wir sind nach Bangkok geflogen und haben die Wärme nur so aufgesaugt! Ich hatte alle möglichen Ambitionen, was ich nicht alles machen und sehen wollte, da wir ja nur zwei volle Tage in Bangkok hatten. Thailand ist sechs Stunden vor Deutschland; Jetlag ist normalerweise kein Problem für mich und ich passe mich relativ schnell an. Dieses Mal allerdings fällt es mir sehr schwer. Ich muss auch zugeben, ich versuche es auch nicht wirklich krampfhaft.

Bangkok hat ein sehr aktives Nachtleben und unser Hotel war in einer lebhaften Gegend. Wir konnten daher die Musik und die Leute bis 3 bzw. 4 Uhr in der Früh hören. Wir waren normalerweise so bis um 4/5 Uhr morgens wach und konnten dann endlich einschlafen und haben lange ausgeschlafen. Wir haben daher nicht viel an Sightseeing gemacht, allerdings haben wir unsere Nachbarschaft erkundet. Wir haben viel gutes Essen gegessen, haben eine Fußmassage bekommen und uns die Stadt ein bisschen angesehen. Das Essen war das Highlight für mich!

Nach ein paar Tagen ging es schon wieder los, mit dem Bus an der Küste entlang zu einem Ort namens Hua Hin. Hier sind wir gerade. Wir sind mit einem sehr kleinen Bus gefahren und ich war mir nicht sicher, ob wir alle dort hineinpassen würden, aber das hat offensichtlich geklappt. Die Busfahrt hat um die 4 Stunden gedauert. Hier in Hua Hin machen wir auch nicht viel außer uns ausruhen, Posts schreiben 😊, am Strand herumliegen und viel gutes Essen genießen. Hua Hin hat auch einen tollen Nachtmarkt, auf dem wir schon zweimal waren. Man kann dort alles bekommen von Essen, zu Sonnenbrillen, Spielen und Massagen.

Morgen geht es weiter zu der Insel Koh Samui. Wir werden für 12 Stunden unterwegs sein, aber dann bleiben wir auch vier volle Tage dort! Nach Koh Samui werden wir nach Krabi gehen und beenden unsere Thailand-Tour auf der Insel Phuket. Also, seid gespannt auf mehr Geschichten in den nächsten Wochen.

¿Donde nos encontramos ahora? Bueno, a principios de enero, huimos del frío y la humedad de Alemania y nos dirigimos a la calurosa y soleada Tailandia.

Nuestro vuelo fue bueno y entramos al país sin problemas. No sé cuánto estás siguiendo las noticias, pero hubo confusión sobre si Tailandia requería o no prueba de vacunación contra COVID. Cuando nos registramos en el aeropuerto de Munich, querían que mostráramos nuestras tarjetas de vacunación; cuando entramos al país por inmigración, no los pidieron.

¡Volamos a Bangkok y aceptamos la calidez de inmediato! Tenía todo tipo de ambiciones sobre lo que quería ver y hacer, ya que solo teníamos dos días completos en la ciudad. Tailandia está seis horas por delante de Alemania; El desfase horario no suele ser un problema para mí y me adapto bastante rápido. Sin embargo, esta vez, me cuesta mucho meterme en el ritmo de las cosas. Admito que tampoco me estoy esforzando mucho.

En Bangkok, la vida nocturna es activa y nuestro hotel estaba en una zona animada. Entonces, uno podía escuchar la música y la gente hasta las 3 o 4 de la mañana. Por lo general, estábamos despiertos hasta las 4/5 a.m. y luego finalmente nos dormimos y dormimos hasta muy tarde. No hicimos mucho turismo, pero nos aventuramos en nuestro vecindario. Tuvimos mucha buena comida, un masaje de pies y pudimos ver un poco la ciudad. ¡La comida fue lo más destacado para mí!

Después de unos días, nos trasladamos en autobús a un pueblo de playa en la costa llamado Hua Hin. Aquí es donde estamos actualmente. Viajamos en un pequeño autobús y no estaba seguro de si cabríamos, pero lo hicimos. El viaje en autobús fue de 4 horas. Aquí tampoco hacemos mucho más que descansar, escribir publicaciones 😊, pasar el rato en la playa y comer mucha buena comida. Hua Hin también tiene un gran mercado nocturno, al que hemos ido dos veces hasta ahora. Puedes conseguir cualquier cosa allí, desde comida hasta gafas de sol, juegos y masajes.

Mañana nos trasladamos a la isla de Koh Samui. Viajaremos durante 12 horas, ¡pero luego nos quedaremos allí durante cuatro días completos! Después de Koh Samui, iremos a Krabi y concluiremos nuestro tiempo en Tailandia en la isla de Phuket. Por lo tanto, estad atentos para más a medida que pasa el tiempo.
