Thailand – Bangkok & Hua Hin

Hello everybody,

Welcome to my/our blog! Thank you so much for checking it out and having an interest in our unique adventure. I hope you will enjoy what I have to share.

We figured this is the easiest way to let everyone know what we are up to; believe it or not, we currently have family and friends located over four different continents (North America, Europe, Africa, Asia) and in quite a few different countries (US, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Spain, Georgia, Namibia, Philippines – did I forget anyone? 😊).

I aim to post about once a week and will do so in English, German and Spanish. On that note, please take no offense in me misspelling words sometimes, messing up the punctuation, or having a funny sentence structure. English and German are not as similar as one might think, and my autocorrect in Word is set to English, sooooo – please just chalk it up to my bilingual brain being indecisive about which language to choose. 😊 For the Spanish section, I will admit right now that I will use Google Translate since my Spanish is sadly not that fluent anymore (I really want to get back into it, though!). So, if there is anything funny happening with that– it wasn’t me; it was Google Translate! 😊 

We also want to take a minute and express our gratitude and appreciation to those of you that we have already visited, hosted us, and met up with us. Thank you to those that have agreed to host us in the near future and/or will meet up with us. Basically, thank you to all of you!! 😊 It is truly a pleasure to see everyone, reconnect and spend some time together. We thoroughly enjoy these moments and are immensely grateful for your hospitality! You are a significant part of what makes this amazing trip work and special!

We preemptively want to apologize to those of you who we will not be able to see! Please do not take it personally; it is just sometimes not the right timing, there is not enough time left, or we are not close enough to you to make it feasible. We would love to see everyone, but unfortunately, this is not always possible.

Our broad travel plan is to spend September & half of October in the UK, then spend a month in Germany, then travel until the beginning of January through Europe and then head off to Asia. At the end of our travel, we want to get back to the US through Hawaii to end up in Denver again. So, we started the travel from Denver going East and will return from the West, which means we would have been truly once around the whole world upon our return.  

This blog will start at the point where we entered the UK at the beginning of September, and I will do a post, to sum up, our time in London and catch up to the present. Of course, I will address the death of the Queen and what we have experienced around that as well. 😉

Hallo alle zusammen,

Willkommen zu meinem/ unserem Blog!  Vielen lieben Dank für’s Reinschauen and für das Interesse an unserem einzigartigen Abenteuer. Ich hoffe es gefällt euch was ich zu berichten habe.

Wir dachten, dies wäre der einfachste Weg allen zur gleichen Zeit mitzuteilen was wir gerade erleben; glaubt es oder nicht, aber im Moment haben wir Familie und Freunde auf vier verschiedenen Kontinente leben (Nord-Amerika, Europa, Afrika, Asien) und in einigen verschiedenen Ländern (USA, Vereinigte Königreich, Deutschland, Schweiz, Italien, Griechenland, Spanien, Georgien, Namibia, Philippinen – habe ich irgendjemanden vergessen? 😊).  

Mein Ziel ist es einmal die Woche zu posten und ich werde das in Englisch, Deutsch und Spanisch machen. Zu diesem Thema, bitte fühlt euch nicht angegriffen, wenn ich etwas falsch buchstabiere, ich die Satzzeichen falsch setze, oder meine Satzstruktur etwas komisch ist. Englisch und Deutsch sind sich nicht so ähnlich wie man vielleicht vermutet und meine automatische Korrektur in Word ist auf Englisch ausgerichtet, alsoooo – bitte rechnet das einfach meinem bilingualen Hirn zu, das sich nicht entscheiden kann welche Sprache es gerade wählen will. 😊 Für den spanischen Teil werde ich gleich jetzt zugeben, dass ich den Google Translator benutzen werde, da mein Spanisch leider nicht mehr so fliessend ist (ich will es aber wieder dazu bringen!). Daher, wenn an dieser Übersetzung etwas komisch ist – das war ich nicht, das war der Google Translator! 😊   

Wir wollten auch einen Moment Zeit nehmen um unsere Dankbarkeit und Wertschätzung für alle zum Ausdruck zu bringen, die wir schon besucht haben, die uns schon bei sich zu Hause übernachten haben lassen und, die sich mit uns getroffen haben. Vielen lieben Dank auch schon an die, die sich bereit erklärt haben uns bei sich unterzubringen in der nahen Zukunft und, die sich mit uns treffen werden. Im Prinzip, vielen Dank an jeden von euch!! 😊 Es ist wirklich eine Freude jeden wiederzusehen, sich auszutauschen und Zeit miteinander zu verbringen. Wir geniessen wirklich jeden dieser Agenblicke und sind sehr dankbar for eure Hospitalität! Ihr seid ein grosser Teil von dem was diese Reise möglich und besonders macht!

Wir möchten uns auch schon im Vorhinein bei denen entschuldigen, die wir nicht sehen werden können! Bitte nehmt das nicht persönlich, das Timing haut nur manchmal nicht hin, es ist nicht genug Zeit übrig, oder wir sind nicht nah genug an euch dran um einen Besuch sinnvoll zu organisieren. Wir würden am liebsten jeden von euch sehen, aber leider geht das nicht immer.

Unser genereller Reiseplan startet damit, dass wir den September bis Mitte Oktober in dem Vereinigten Königreich verbringen, dann gehen wir einen Monat nach Deutschland, danach werden wir durch Europa reisen bis Anfang Januar und dann geht es ab nach Asien. Am Ende wollen wir zurück in die USA über Hawaii um schlussendlich wieder in Denver anzukommen. Wir sind von Denver gestartet und sind östlich gereist und werden von der westlichen Seite wieder zurückkommen, was bedeutet, dass wir wirklich einmal um die ganze Welt herum gereist sein werden.

Dieser Blog startet zu dem Zeitpunkt als wir in das Vereinigte Königreich gekommen sind, Anfang September, und ich werde einen zusammenfassenden Post machen über unsere Zeit in London um dann zur Gegenwart aufzuschliessen. Ich werde natürlich auch den Tod der Königin ansprechen und was wir um das Thema herum in London erlebt haben. 😊

¡Bienvenidos a mi/nuestro blog! Muchas gracias por echarle un vistazo y tener interés en nuestra aventura única. Espero que disfruten lo que tengo para compartir.

Pensamos que esta es la forma más fácil de que todos sepan al mismo tiempo lo que estamos haciendo; créalo o no, actualmente tenemos familiares y amigos ubicados en cuatro continentes diferentes (América del Norte, Europa, África, Asia) y en bastantes países diferentes (EE. UU., Reino Unido, Alemania, Suiza, Italia, Grecia, España, Georgia, Namibia, Filipinas – ¿Me olvidé de alguien? 😊).

Mi objetivo es publicar una vez por semana y lo haré en inglés, alemán y español. En ese sentido, por favor, no se ofenda si a veces escribo mal las palabras, estropeo la puntuación o tengo una estructura de oración divertida. El inglés y el alemán no son tan similares como uno podría pensar y mi autocorrección en Word está configurada en inglés, entoncens, por favor, atribúyelo a mi cerebro bilingüe que no sabe qué idioma elegir. 😊 Para la sección de español, admitiré ahora que usaré Google Translate, ya que lamentablemente mi español ya no es tan fluido (¡aunque tengo muchas ganas de volver a hacerlo!). Entonces, si algo divertido está pasando con eso, no fui yo, ¡fue Google Translate! 😊

También queremos tomarnos un minuto y expresar nuestra gratitud y aprecio a aquellos de ustedes que ya hemos visitado, que nos hospedaron y se reunieron con nosotros. Gracias a aquellos que aceptaron hospedarnos en un futuro cercano y/o se reunirán con nosotros. Básicamente, gracias a todos ustedes!! 😊 Es un verdadero placer verlos a todos, reconectarnos y pasar un rato juntos. ¡Disfrutamos muchísimo estos momentos y estamos inmensamente agradecidos por su hospitalidad! ¡Eres una parte importante de lo que hace que este increíble viaje funcione y sea especial!

¡Preventivamente queremos disculparnos con aquellos de ustedes que no podremos ver! Por favor, no lo tome como algo personal, simplemente a veces no es el momento adecuado, no queda suficiente tiempo o no estamos lo suficientemente cerca de usted para que sea factible. Nos encantaría verlos a todos, pero desafortunadamente esto no siempre es posible.

Nuestro amplio plan de viaje es pasar septiembre y la mitad de octubre en el Reino Unido, luego pasar un mes en Alemania, luego viajar hasta principios de enero por Europa y luego partir hacia Asia. Al final de nuestro viaje, queremos regresar a los EE. UU. a través de Hawái para terminar nuevamente en Denver. Entonces, comenzamos el viaje desde Denver hacia el este y regresaremos desde el oeste, lo que significa que realmente habríamos dado la vuelta al mundo una vez a nuestro regreso.

Este blog comenzará en el momento en que ingresamos al Reino Unido a principios de septiembre y haré una publicación para resumir nuestro tiempo en Londres y ponernos al día. Por supuesto, también abordaré la muerte de la Reina y lo que hemos experimentado al respecto. 😉
