Innsbruck Dec 18th – 20th

Innsbruck was just a short intermezzo for us, but it was lovely! Innsbruck lies in the valley and is surrounded by the Alps. It also had a lot of snow there, but the streets were clear. We used the time to recuperate and get used to the cold. We had some good food as well!

The night we arrived at the Hotel, the final of the world championship was on, and I was already disappointed because I could not see it completely. Well, once in our room, I hoped to stream the last part of it from one of the major German News Outlets on my phone, but I still could not since I was not in Germany. I voiced my frustration to Doug, who said, "Why don't you try the TV? I am sure they are showing it there!"…. Yeah…. one of my typical "Sabrina-moments" how my family would say… Of course, they showed it on the TV, hanging right in front of me on the wall! And as it turns out, I just joined the game when it got interesting, so nothing was missed!

Innsbruck war nur ein kurzes Intermezzo für uns, aber es war schön! Innsbruck liegt in einem Tal und ist von den Alpen umgeben. Es hatte auch einiges an Schnee dort, die Straßen waren aber geräumt. Wir haben die Zeit genutzt, um uns zu erholen und uns an die Kälte zu gewöhnen. Wir hatten auch gutes Essen!

An dem Abend, als wir im Hotel angekommen sind, war das Finale der Fußballweltmeisterschaft und ich war schon enttäuscht gewesen, weil ich es nicht von Anfang an sehen konnte. Tja, also wir in unserem Hotelzimmer waren, hoffte ich das Spiel auf meinem Handy verfolgen zu können, durch einen Livestream einer der großen Fernsehsender in Deutschland; aber ich konnte es immer noch nicht, da ich noch nicht in Deutschland war. Ich teilte meinen Frust mit Doug, der dann nur meint: „Warum versucht du es denn nicht mit dem Fernseher? Ich bin mir sicher, sie übertragen es dort!“... Jaaa... einer meiner typischen „Sabrina-Momente“, wie meine Familie sagen würde... Natürlich haben sie es im Fernsehen, der direkt gegenüber vom Bett an der Wand hing, übertragen! Glücklicherweise schaltete ich gerade zu rechten Zeit ein als es interessant wurde und ich hatte nicht viel verpasst!

Innsbruck fue solo un breve intermedio para nosotros, ¡pero fue encantador! Innsbruck se encuentra en el valle y está rodeada por los Alpes. Allí también había mucha nieve, pero las calles estaban despejadas. Aprovechamos el tiempo para recuperarnos y acostumbrarnos al frío. ¡También comimos bien!

La noche que llegamos al Hotel, estaba la final del campeonato mundial, y yo ya estaba decepcionado porque no podía verlo completo. Bueno, una vez en nuestra habitación, esperaba transmitir la última parte de uno de los principales medios de noticias alemanes en mi teléfono, pero aún así no pude porque no estaba en Alemania. Le expresé mi frustración a Doug, quien dijo: "¿Por qué no pruebas la televisión? ¡Estoy seguro de que lo están mostrando allí!"... Sí…. uno de mis típicos "momentos Sabrina" como diría mi familia... Por supuesto, lo mostraron en la televisión, ¡colgado justo frente a mí en la pared! Y resultó que me uní al juego cuando se puso interesante, ¡así que no me perdí nada!
