Brussels/ Brüssel/ Bruselas Nov 19th – 21st

Brussels, well, I admit this was the city/ country I knew the least about. We only spent a couple of full days here, but we learned quite a bit. We have been to the original castle that burnt down and is mainly underground. The country is split into three main areas: the upper half, which is influenced by the Dutch, the lower half, which is influenced by the French, and Brussels is its own little area with a mixture of Dutch, French, and English. Of course, we ate Belgium waffles!

Brüssel, nun, ich muss zugeben, dies war die Stadt/ das Land über das ich am wenigsten wusste bis jetzt. Wir haben nur zwei Tage dort verbracht, aber wir haben einiges gelernt. Wir waren in dem früheren Schloss, das zugrunde brannte und ist jetzt hauptsächlich unterirdisch. Das Land ist in drei Gebiete mehr oder weniger geteilt: Die höhere Hälfte ist von den Niederlanden beeinflusst, die untere Hälfte von Frankreich und Brüssel macht sein eigenes Ding mit Niederländisch, Französisch und Englisch. Natürlich haben wir auch belgische Waffeln gegessen!

Bruselas, bueno, admito que esta era la ciudad/país que menos conocía. Solo pasamos un par de días completos aquí, pero aprendimos bastante. Hemos estado en el castillo original que se quemó y es principalmente subterráneo. El país está dividido en tres áreas principales: la mitad superior, que está influenciada por los holandeses, la mitad inferior, que está influenciada por los franceses, y Bruselas es su propia pequeña área con una mezcla de holandés, francés e inglés. Por supuesto, ¡comimos gofres belgas!
