Once around the World

I have figured out how to create a subscribe button for this blog if you would like to get notifications about new posts. We started our journey in the UK, in London to be exact. We arrived via plane at the beginning of September and spent one week in the capital. Since we are trying to make the money we have saved up last as long as possible we try to choose cheaper but reasonable accommodations. So, for London, we decided to stay in a dorm in a hostel. How did that look like you wonder? Well, this meant sleeping in the same room with 13 other random people in bunk beds. One bunk had three beds stacked; guess who slept in the top one – correct, me! We also had a night light constantly on and an even brighter light with a motion sensor… I do not need to explain how this was at night with 15 people of different ages, different bladder and sleeping rhythms, as well as varying deg

Hello everybody, Welcome to my/our blog! Thank you so much for checking it out and having an interest in our unique adventure. I hope you will enjoy what I have to share. We figured this is the easiest way to let everyone know what we are up to; believe it or not, we currently have family and friends located over four different continents (North America, Europe, Africa, Asia) and in quite a few different countries (US, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Spain, Georgia, Namibia, Philippines – did I forget anyone? 😊 ). I aim to post about once a week and will do so in English, German and Spanish. On that note, please take no offense in me misspelling words sometimes, messing up the punctuation, or having a funny sentence structure. English and German are not as similar as one might think, and my autocorrect in Word is set to English, sooooo – please just chalk it up to my bilingual brain being indecisive about which language to choose. 😊 For the Spanish section, I wi
